Eighteen men appear in this photograph getting the Racing Schooner Mayflower ready for an April launch. Altogether, 59 men completed this vessel in 59 1/2 working days so she would qualify as a contender for the Dennis Cup. However, the Canadians considered Mayflower to be a “yacht disguised as a fishermen” and never raced the Bluenose against her.
